Facebook Messenger

Connect Facebook Messenger to handle guest messages from your Facebook Page.

Prerequisites

  • Facebook Business Page

  • Admin access to the Page

  • Meta Business Account (recommended)

Setup Steps

1. Connect in Opally

  1. Go to Integrations in the sidebar

  2. Find Messenger and click Connect

  3. Sign in to Facebook

  4. Select your Page

  5. Grant permissions

2. Verify Connection

After connecting:

  • Your Page name appears in Opally

  • Test by sending a message to your Page

  • Message should appear in Opally's Chat section

Managing Multiple Pages

If you have multiple Facebook Pages:

  • Connect each Page separately

  • Each Page can have different settings

  • All conversations appear in unified inbox

Troubleshooting

Connection fails

  • Ensure you're a Page admin

  • Try removing and re-adding the connection

  • Check Page isn't restricted

Messages not appearing

  • Verify integration status

  • Check Page messaging is enabled

  • Look in "Message Requests" on Facebook

AI not responding

  • Confirm AI is enabled for Messenger

  • Check conversation in Chat dashboard

  • Review Knowledge Base coverage

Disconnecting

  1. Go to Integrations in the sidebar

  2. Click Disconnect on Messenger

  3. Optionally remove Opally from Facebook Page Settings > Apps
